Several solid club teams came together for a great 16-team High School Elite division bracket and one team proved to be head and shoulders above the rest for this weekend and quite possibly for the spring and summer of 2010 in Washington state and beyond. Riverside, Baden, Blaze, ECBA Jammin, Lake Elite1, NW Magic Elite, NW Motion, Olympia Boomers, Shock Girls, Southridge, T.Reign, Total Package, Tree of Hope All-Stars, Tree of Hope Elite, Triple Threat Explosion and Vancouver Heat all played in this April's event with many teams hoping to finish near the top of the division and earn a spot in our May 14-16 Tournament of Champions.

November 14-15 Fall Festival

Riverside Blue (Seniors and Juniors), Blue Storm I (AK), Puget Sound Emeralds and Timberline played each other in the High School Elite division. With school ball try-outs and their season right around the corner, Auburn Riverside's upperclassmen played very well together in all four games and earned the championship trophy. Thanks to all of the teams that came together to make this weekend possible, especially the girls that came down from Alaska for the tournament. 

Denn Pretz would like to thank his 2010 girls for everything over these last seven years together, as this was the last time for Denn to coach these girls that he has been working with since we began the Riverside Youth Basketball program during their 6th grade year. Best wishes to all of you for what you all hope to achieve this senior season and to each of you as you move on after high school.

Amongst all of the divisional games, there were four especially close games between Fircrest, Tarheels and Riverside with the Fircrest Wolves coming out on top in each of their contests.

The Reign and the Warriors are both solid 8th grade squads and each showed how strong they could play with Tukwila taking the first game between the two by nine points and the Warriors winning the rematch, the championship game, by three points.

The High School Elite division included Baden Elite, Puget Sound Emeralds, Tahoma Bears and then the host Riverside players split onto two teams, Riverside Blue and Riverside White.

Each team had some strong performances throughout the weekend but it came down to the final game of the day on Sunday as Riverside Blue came out on top of Baden for the championship.

A couple of the pool play games to determine the #1 seeds were very closely contested, with QH Issaquah just one point better than Total Package Red and with Baden Elite beating Riverside by four to join Tree of Hope Elite and Emerald City Pioneers as the other two top seeds going into bracket play.

Bellevue, NbK, YEA Black and Olympia Boomers each finished on top after pool play, with Bellevue and YEA Black meeting up in the championship game.

This month's tournament saw 12 teams participate in the 8th grade division including, Riverside-2013, Riverside-2014, EBI Elite, Excellence, Extreme, Jayhawks, LW Force, S. Kitsap 7th, S. Kitsap 8th, Vaders, Way to Win Bronze and Wolves.

EBI Elite, Wolves, LW Force and Riverside-2013 took the #1 seeds out of pool play and met up in the semi-final bracket with the Wolves and LW Force playing in the championship game.

March 20-22 Last Chance TOC Qualifier

The High School Elite division included Riverside, Premier Elite, Pressure, Puget Sound Elite, Quickhandle Issaquah, Seattle's Best, Shock, Total Package and YEA All-Stars. Many of the teams in this division were evenly matched which provided us with many close games. 14 of the 21 games were won by 8 points or less.

YEA All-Stars went 4-0 in their pool, winning games over Seattle's Best, Pressure, Heat Red and Premier Elite.

QuickHandle Issaquah also went 4-0, including three games that they won by 1 point each, ahead of Riverside, Shock, Total Package and Puget Sound Elite.

The #1 seeds matched up to determine the overall championship with YEA coming out on top of QuickHandle Issaquah, 43-36.

In the High School division, twelve teams came to compete including Bellevue, Heat Black, Issaquah All-Stars, Jammin Rage, Lady Gators, Lake Elite, PFD Pressure, Premier Elite, Seattle's Best, South Sound Havoc, Wolverines and YEA Black.

YEA Black, Lady Gators, Lake Elite and Bellevue all came out of their pools as #1 seeds with Lake Elite getting the win in the 3rd place game over Lady Gators and YEA Black finishing strong with a win over Bellevue in the battle for 1st and 2nd.

In the 8th grade division, Riverside-2013, A&R Hornets, Bearcats, Seattle's Best, Valley Elite and YEA Finest. Once again, many of the teams were very evenly matched with 10 of the 13 games being decided by 8 points or less.

YEA Finest handled Valley Elite 40-29 in one semifinal game while the A&R Hornets defeated the host Riverside-2013 team for a second time in the same weekend, this time by a score of 36-28, in the other semifinal. YEA Finest and A&R Hornets met for the championship with YEA coming out on top, 56-49.

In the 7th grade division, Riverside-2014, PFD Pressure, Rotary Style, Seattle's Best, Snohomish County Select, Tukwila Reign, WA Warriors (FW) and YEA Elite all came to play.

YEA Elite and Rotary Style worked their way through the bracket to meet for the division championship with YEA Elite coming out on top, 29-27.

Riverside-2015, ShotCallers, SnoPeak Ice, Valley Elite and YEA Select all played this past weekend in the 6th grade division.

YEA Select finished 4-0 and took home the championship. Valley Elite finished 3-1, with just the one loss at the hands of YEA Select, 23-36, to come away with 2nd place.
